God is kind.
Picture looks unrelated to the main gist of this post but God is so kind, kind enough for you to put your trust in Him regardless of whatever happens. I thought it best to remind you. Don't forget.
"God is kind." These were my words after my friend explained the salvation of God to me. After our conversation, I realised anew that God is kind.
So, Jesus is the key to heaven. This means as long as you believe in Jesus with your heart and confess with your mouth, you have been saved from hell and its fury.
As long as you believe and confess with your mouth... this means you don't have to do anything serious.
On this table of salvation, all you need to bring to the table is your sincerity, your repentance, your acknowledgment of your sinful nature, your acknowledgment of all Jesus has done while he walked the face of the earth—his death, his resurrection, his ascension—and finally, your acceptance, complete and total acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord, your Saviour, and your Redeemer.
With this, regardless of whatever you have done, no matter the atrocities you have committed, no matter how much wickedness has flowed from you like a flood, no matter how your bitterness has caused men to suffer terribly, no matter how much your hatred has wounded men and caused them to remain unhealed for years—and even if they died in their unhealed state—no matter how much evil you have perpetrated, no matter the height, the depth, the length, breadth, width of your wickedness and every evil you have done...
Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have immediately been snatched from the kingdom of darkness and translated to the kingdom of light.
No matter how terribly you have lived your former days, upon acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have become a new creation who no longer operates from the kingdom of darkness but from the kingdom of light...
If only you would see yourself as God sees you.
But this is the struggle—we often can't see the simplicity in the heart of the Father.
Let’s say, we were all living spirit and soul with our Father, a living Spirit in a house, a big house... but something happened and we all got separated. And the only way to come back together is through one path.
What happened?
In this house there was a rule that nobody should disobey, but our disobedience caused the separation.
Why?
The living Spirit and dead spirit cannot live together. There is no relationship between the dead and the living.
Upon our disobedience, our spirit died. And the only way to reawaken our spirit so we can return to the house where only living spirits live is by going to that path of reawakening—that one path that leads to the Father.
So, when we get to that path, and we agree to take the path, then we begin our journey to the Father.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (Jesus).
So, once you have accepted Jesus, the Father now sees you as His own child.
But many of us still think we have to do extra.
Honestly, the only extra you have to do is sit with your Bible and read about Jesus, study Jesus and live like Jesus.
That’s the only extra you have to do.
But, even if you refuse to do the very necessary extra, that doesn't mean you won't get to heaven.
Why?
Because you have already believed with your heart and confessed with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour.
So, because of Jesus, you will not go to hell but be in heaven.
But if you refuse to do the extra work required of you to live a holy life with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will regret in eternity.
You will be filled with so much regret that would cause you an indescribable pain leading to painful cries and gnashing of teeth.
See this:
Revelation 22:11 NKJV
“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
Revelation 22:12 AMP
“Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds (earthly works, faithfulness).”
Revelation 22:14 AMP
“Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) are those who wash their robes [in the blood of Christ by believing and trusting in Him—the righteous who do His commandments], so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.”
Revelation 22:15 AMP
“Outside are the dogs [the godless, the impure, those of low moral character] and the sorcerers [with their intoxicating drugs, and magic arts], and the immoral persons [the perverted, the molesters, and the adulterers], and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying (deception, cheating).”
God is so kind, so kind that He will keep the godless, the impure, the immoral, the sorcerers, the murderers, the idolaters, the liars... outside.
God is so kind that He will not throw them into the lake of fire.
God is so kind...
That’s what I thought when I read this Bible verse after listening to my friend.
Honestly, if I were God...
But, God is not man, He is not a son of man that He should lie or repent. If He has said something, He will do it.
He has said in John 3:16, “That whosoever believes in the Son shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
You will not be condemned to hell but have a life in heaven.
But... I wonder where you would be in heaven.
I wonder how you would live in heaven.
I really wonder.
I wonder for me too...
So, I'm writing this to remind you not to take God's kindness for granted.
Kindness is an overflow of a deep love.
Kindness is not earned—we did not earn God's kindness.
He loved us while we were still sinners and even demonstrated His love for us by giving us His Son.
And we did very wicked things to His Son.
But thankfully, God in His love and kindness made our wickedness work for our good.
The death of His Son, Jesus Christ, led to the resurrection of our dead spirit, so that we might be able to return home to Him.
But, I really wonder...
Will you be able to enter the city of God?
Or will you be outside for eternity and eternity to come?
Do not joke with your eternity.
See verse 14 again:
Revelation 22:14 AMP
“Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) are those who wash their robes [in the blood of Christ by believing and trusting in Him—the righteous who do His commandments], so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.”
God is so kind that He has given us His Spirit—the Holy Spirit—to guide us into all truth.
And if we learn to depend on Him to help us live righteously, then on that last day, we can have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
God is so kind, so kind that even if you choose to live unrighteously even after believing and confessing that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour, He will not throw you to hell...
God is just so kind. Too kind to be real... but very real.
So, what will you do with this kindness?
Will you trample on it?
Will you continue in sin because grace abounds?
Will you rely on the Holy Spirit that you have received upon your believing and confessing of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?
Will you rely on the Spirit of God to guide you into all truth and teach you to live righteously?
I wonder what you will choose to do.
One choice affords you eternity in all its beauty and fullness,
Another choice affords you eternity filled with regrets.
Which one will you choose?
And if you choose the former, it’s not just by words of mouth—it must be clear in your lifestyle, and your daily actions will stand as the evidence of what you have truly chosen.
I pray that you honour this kindness and live out your days on earth righteously by relying on the help of God (the Holy Spirit).
I pray that you are filled with the love of God, so much that there's an overflow of kindness from you to everyone that meets you.
That you become as kind as God.
God is just so kind.
So, even if you have lived your days righteously and you are still living righteously, I pray you are helped not to look down on others still struggling to live righteously, but to see them as lovingly and kindly as God sees them.
Amen for me. Amen for you.
With all my love,
Titilayomi.
Abusing God's mercy, kindness, and grace is something I see a lot of "christians" do. But we forget that this will not be forever.
I pray knowledge finds us all so we can condition ourselves to choose righteousness daily.
“Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”
Romans 2:4
Lovely article, reminded me of this scripture. God bless. 🙏
